When work needs to be done across the part surface, it must be held by the edges to prevent damage to the clamps and bits. Clamps holding stock from the top is the most common holding method, and our system engages the work top and edge to prevent movement during heavy milling.
Microjig’s CNC Workholding kit uses our MatchFit Dovetail Hardware in the spoilboard we teach you how to make to fit your machine bed. This allows most setups to be done quickly with no tools.

Got questions?
Will MATCHFIT Dovetail Clamps and Dovetail Hardware fit into my Festool track?
The clamps will not, the hardware will, but that’s kind of missing the point. The MATCHFIT system was designed to be compatible with a standard router bit profile, so that users wouldn’t actually need metal tracks. However, some users have been known to file or grind about .005” off of the wide part of the clamp’s elbow and use them in their Festool track. Our advice is to use Festool clamps with Festool tracks, and use Dovetail Clamps for everything else.
Can I use MDF for Matchfit tables and jigs?
Good quality plywood or MDF work just fine for the MatchFit Dovetail System. Because the clamp pressure is normally directly over the clamp head in the groove, the groove is supported and the board does not tear out. There is a video showing the process here: https://youtu.be/oHtOey0-97U
What are the recommended wood type for MatchFit Dovetail Tracks?
3/4" or thicker: Void-free quality plywood (11-ply or more, Baltic birch is best), standard MDF or seasoned hardwood.
