Table Clips with the 2-Step Router Bit
Attaching a top to the apron of a table requires that the top can move with seasonal changes in humidity and temperature, and MicroJig’s 2-Step Router Bit gives you a couple of different ways to address this. Grooves cut along the inside of the apron accept slotted table clips or stretchers that will hold the top while allowing for movement. Screws through the counter-bored slot made with the 2-Step Bit keep the top tight to the apron and prevents splitting the top.

Using the MicroDial Rise Over Run Scale
Setting a cut with the MicroDial Tapering Jig is pretty straight forward when you know the angle you want to cut, just set the MicroDial at the end of the jig to the number you want. There are 80 pre-sets to choose from between 0 and 10 degrees. But if you do not know the actual angle such as when tapering a table leg, you need to set the jig based on how much you want to remove. This is when you need to use the Rise Over Run scale. So, what exactly is rise over run?

Will Dovetail Clamps Work with My Track Saw?
With track saws becoming more popular with woodworkers, we often get asked if our MATCHFit Dovetail Clamps will work in the guide rails that track saws use. The short answer is that only MicroJig’s Ratchet Clamp AP is built to work in the standard groove that most guide rails use. The long answer is about why.

Bevel Cutting with the GRR-RIPPER
“Can I make bevel cuts with my GRR-RIPPER?” is a pretty common question that we get, and the answer is, of course, “Yes!” There are a few things to consider when bevel cutting, but with care you can make these cuts safely and without damaging your GRR-RIPPER.

AP Spring Adjustment
Set your AP clamp your way. All “F” style clamp arms, like our MATCHFit Dovetail clamps, hold under pressure because the clamping force is jamming the bar across the hole in the clamp arm. Our Patented AP Spring ‘pre-loads’ the arm in the same manner even when the clamp is not under pressure. This is what keeps the AP Clamp arm from moving.

Finishing MatchFit Dovetail Grids
Once your MatchFit Dovetail Grid table or sled is cut, you want to think about finish. Sealing the plywood or MDF will help minimize warping, keep glue from sticking and help the clamps and Dovetail Hardware slide more smoothly in the grooves. You want to protect the surface, but you do not want it too smooth. We have found that a certain amount of friction is needed between the part being clamped and the dovetail worktop to prevent movement under the clamps.

What Every Woodworker Should Know About Guide Bushings
Many woodworkers are not familiar with Router Guide Bushings, but they should be. A guide bushing attaches to the router base allowing woodworkers to guide the router bit as it cuts without having a bearing. Here's what you need to know about guide bushings, the standard, and aftermarket alternatives for your setup.
