Slide 1This GRR-Ripper owner had a special project (building a special Clamp Rack) and came up with a very interesting cut with the GRR-Ripper GR-200, which otherwise would be almost impossible to achieve: creating a perfectly straight groove in a long slightly-bent dowel.
-
Slide 2 - Groove cutting on long dowelThis picture shows the finished dowel and the GRR-Ripper GR-200 set up.
-
Slide 3 - Dowel next to fenceThe long dowel is placed against the fence and showing a gap between the dowel and the fence.
-
Slide 4 - A scrap board line up with dowelUse a scrap board that is thinner than the diameter of the dowel but thicker than the radius of the dowel.
-
Slide 5 - Secure Stabilizing Plate on the scrap boardThe scrap board having a length equal or longer than the dowel and at least 8" (203mm) in width. Secure the Stabilizing Plate with hardware to the scrap board as shown.
-
Slide 6 - Securing the Adjustable SpacerFlip the GRR-Ripper upside-down along the edge of router table and secure the Adjustable Spacer as shown.
-
-
Slide 8 - Adjusting Balance SupportKeeping pressure on the Adjustable Spacer and lock the Balance Support with scrap board resting on the router table.
-
Slide 9 - Securing Stabilizing Plate with scrap boardPressure is applied on the scrap board towards the dowel and fence. Tighten the two thumb knobs on Stabilizing Plate - this will straighten the bent dowel.
-
Slide 10 - Relocate handleMove the handle towards the dowel and securely tighten it with Phillip screwdriver.
-
-
Slide 12 - Dowel with grooveThe slightly-bent long dowel shown with a perfect groove successfully cut.
