Micro Jig

This GRR-Ripper owner had a special project (building a special Clamp Rack) and came up with a very interesting cut with the GRR-Ripper GR-200, which otherwise would be almost impossible to achieve: creating a perfectly straight groove in a long slightly-bent dowel.

This picture shows the finished dowel and the GRR-Ripper GR-200 set up.

The long dowel is placed against the fence and showing a gap between the dowel and the fence.

Use a scrap board that is thinner than the diameter of the dowel but thicker than the radius of the dowel.

The scrap board having a length equal or longer than the dowel and at least 8" (203mm) in width. Secure the Stabilizing Plate with hardware to the scrap board as shown.

Flip the GRR-Ripper upside-down along the edge of router table and secure the Adjustable Spacer as shown.

Keeping pressure on the Adjustable Spacer and lock the Balance Support with scrap board resting on the router table.

Pressure is applied on the scrap board towards the dowel and fence. Tighten the two thumb knobs on Stabilizing Plate - this will straighten the bent dowel.

Move the handle towards the dowel and securely tighten it with Phillip screwdriver.

The set up is now ready for cutting.
